A Dose of Inspiration
Thanksgiving
If there was ever a weekend for gratitude - this is it! Thanksgiving weekend was made for it. A time to get together with family and friends. To share a meal. Share some laughs. To spend time with those that you love. It doesn’t have to get ‘mushy.’ It doesn’t need to be spoken. It just is.
You will hear me say, be thankful for what you’ve got, or you will never have anything to be thankful for. That’s my gratitude mantra, if you will. And it serves me. But there’s more.
It’s not just about giving thanks, it’s about giving back. Almost everyone has something to give. It’s not always money. Some give something far more precious; their time.
So while you are giving thanks this weekend, think about ways that you can give back a little. Can you give someone your time? Lend an ear to a friend who’s sick or down. Lend your expertise to an organization in need. Or volunteer doing something you love.
Turns out, doing those things, will make you even more grateful for what you have.
Run Well.
Question of the week
How are you going to run off your turkey dinner this weekend?
A Bit of Training Advice
It’s marathon season. And while I don’t think anyone is planning any travel to the US anytime soon, there are lessons to be learned from this article about what to look for in your first marathon. And great first marathons can be found right here in Ontario!
