A Dose of Inspiration
Canada Day
I’ve been given some strange looks before (it’s never really bothered me).But some of the strangest are when I tell people that my favourite holiday is Canada Day.
Yes! You read that correctly. My favourite holiday is Canada Day. Let me explain.
I think Canada Day is the perfect holiday because it includes everyone! It’s non-denominational, doesn’t matter what your gender is, or how old you are, or whether you were born here, or the colour of your skin. You don’t even need to be CANADIAN to celebrate. One year we were out of the country on July 1st and the resort put on a fireworks display for the Canadians (well, that’s what I told the kids!).
And almost everything is closed! There’s nothing else to do, but head over to your local park. It will be brimming with people. There’s food, music, food, craft sales, food, activities for the kids, and did I mention FOOD!
The holiday ends off the perfect way - with fireworks.
Still not convinced. Make plans to go out to your local public park and hang out with the masses on Canada Day. It just might be all the convincing you need. Just remember to stay for the fireworks!
Run well.
